Types and characteristics of sweatshirt fabrics

The fabrics of sweatshirts are mainly the following:

Cotton: Cotton sweatshirts are a common type. They have good moisture absorption, strong breathability, and soft feel. They are one of the common fabrics of sweatshirts. However, cotton sweatshirts are prone to pilling and shrink and deform after washing, and need to be ironed and maintained frequently.

Polyester: Polyester is a type of synthetic fiber with the characteristics of good wear resistance, not easy to pilling, easy to wash and quick drying. However, polyester has poor breathability and is not comfortable to wear.

Terry cloth: Terry cloth is a knitted fabric with a single-sided terry on the surface and a brushed back. It has good warmth retention and is suitable for wearing in spring and autumn. The material of terry cloth is generally polyester, and there are also cotton ones.

Fleece: Fleece is a treated plush fabric with good warmth retention, softness and comfort, and not easy to pilling. However, fleece is prone to static electricity and needs to be used with anti-static products.

Nylon: Nylon is a synthetic fiber with the characteristics of good wear resistance, not easy to pilling, and light weight. However, nylon has poor air permeability and is not suitable for summer wear.

In summary, cotton and terry cloth are the best choices for sweatshirt fabrics, which are comfortable to wear, warm and not easy to deform. Polyester and nylon are suitable for occasions with higher requirements for wear resistance, while fleece is suitable for occasions with higher requirements for warmth.
